As someone who has gone through a difficult breakup, I understand how painful and confusing it can be. It can be hard to know where to turn or how to cope with the emotions you’re experiencing. That’s why I wanted to share four books that helped me immensely during my healing process.
1. How to be a Gentlewoman by Lotte Jeffs – This book is all about how to navigate modern womanhood with grace, kindness, and class. It helped me learn to be more compassionate towards myself and others and to let go of the need to be perfect. Showing impeccable amounts of grace for ourselves. We don’t often understand that we are not putting ourselves first; this book helped me to realize that.
2. The Journey from Abandonment to Healing by Susan Anderson – This book helped me understand the different stages of grief after a breakup, and gave me tools to work through my emotions. It’s a compassionate and practical guide for anyone struggling with heartbreak.
3. The Abandonment Healing Workbook by Susan Anderson – This workbook is a companion to Anderson’s first book, and provides exercises and activities to help you heal and move forward. It helped me gain clarity and perspective and gave me a sense of purpose during a difficult time.
4. Zero Limits by Joe Vitale – This book is all about the power of forgiveness and taking responsibility for your own life. It helped me let go of resentment and anger towards my ex and focus on my own growth and happiness.
These four books helped me label my emotions, understand my pain, love myself more, and find a way to breathe again. I hope they can be a source of comfort and guidance for anyone going through a similar experience. Remember, healing takes time and it’s okay to be patient with yourself. I will forever say that it is not time that helps the healing but what we do with that time that helps our healing.
